First thing in the morning, you can watch the colour of the sea that is a sparkling silvery blue. By mid-day, when you are swimming in the crystal blue clear waters, in your pretty little beach near the apartment, the sea is a rich translucent turquoise. By early evening, as you sip your drink and watch the sun go down, the sea is a deep, moody blue.

The city of Chania lays at the east end of the Gulf of Chania which is formed between the Akrotiri peninsula and the Spatha peninsula. The climate of the city is mild and typical mediterranean, with sunny dry summers and mild rainy winters. During the period April-October fine weather is almost an everyday feature with very few interruptions. Sunny days are frequent during the winter as well. The city of Chania can be basically divided in two parts: the old town and the modern city which is the larger one. The modern part of Chania is where most locals live and work. It is less traditional than the old town, but there are still areas of charming beauty or of some historical interest ecc.

Rethymnon it's a city of approximately 40,000 people, is the capital of Rethymno Prefecture in the island of Crete, Greece. It was built in antiquity (ancient Rhithymna and Arsinoe), even though it has never been a competitive Minoan center. It was, however, strong enough to mint its own coins and maintain a mild urban growth. One of these coins is today depicted as the crest of the town with two dolphins in a circle. The town still maintains its old aristocratic appearance, with its buildings dating from the 16th century, arched doorways, stone staircases ecc.
